Maltodextrin Project Introduction
Starch milk adjustment: Starch milk adjustment is used to adjust the appropriate DS value. Also, the dry starch can be used after adding the water. The starch milk was adjusted with the exact DS value (DS=28%-32%). Then the starch milk goes to the next stage.
Liquefaction: jet cooker is used in the liquefaction process. Two times of ejection are needed for a better liquefaction effect. Then the material is sent to the flash tank for cooling. After cooling, the material goes to the next stage.
Filtration and decolorization: maltodextrin has protein and other impurities. Filtration removed the protein and others impurities from maltodextrin. Then the material goes through a decolorization system to remove colored impurities. The activated carbon is used for the decolorization process. after decolorization, the activated carbon will be removed by the filter. Then the filtered maltodextrin goes to the next section.
Continuous ion exchange: The filtered maltodextrin has mixed impurities ions. Continuous ion exchange systems remove the mixed impurities ions from maltodextrin. The ion exchange system is filled with cation and anion resin. The cation and anion attract the mixed impurities ions base on their chemical principle removed from the desired material. Then pure and high-quality maltodextrin is obtained.
Evaporation and drying: Evaporator used to reach desired DS value to the dryer system. After reaching the desired DS value, the maltodextrin reaches a high-quality level. After drying, the qualified solid maltodextrin powder `is obtained.
